About time to caulk windows? It is always a good idea to check the seals around your windows. If your seals are cracked (or missing), your house will be allowing a lot more outside air into your house. This will make it difficult to maintain the temperature in your home. You will need window caulk and a caulk gun in order to caulk windows properly.
- With a puddy blade or a caulk removing tool, strip out the old caulk.
- You can use something like “Goo-Gone” to remove any remaining caulk stuck to the trim or window.
- Apply a small bead, just enough to cover the seam, around the whole perimeter until you connect to where you started.
- With your finger, or a rubber caulk applicator, smooth out the caulk to an even finish.
- Allow the caulk to dry for as long as the manufacturer specifies.
